Privacy Policy
Last updated: December 09, 2025
Our Privacy Commitment
Your health and wellness data is deeply personal. We built Interval with privacy at its core. This policy explains exactly how we handle your data.
What Data We Collect
When you connect your wearable device (like Whoop), we collect:
- Sleep metrics (duration, efficiency, stages)
- Heart rate variability (HRV)
- Resting heart rate
- Activity and strain data
- Readiness and recovery scores
We also collect basic account information: your name, email address, and company affiliation.
How We Protect Your Privacy
Individual Data is Private
Your personal wellness data is never shown to your company or team administrators. They cannot see your individual sleep patterns, HRV, heart rate, or any other personal metrics. Ever.
Aggregated Data Has Strict Minimums
We only show aggregated team data when your team has 10 or more participating members. This prevents anyone from identifying individual data points.
If your team has fewer than 10 participants, we don't show any aggregate data at all—not even averages. This ensures complete privacy in smaller groups.
What Aggregates Include
When team size reaches 10+ participants, administrators can see team-level statistics like:
- Average sleep duration for the team
- Average HRV trends
- Team readiness scores
- Week-over-week changes in team metrics
These are only averages across the entire team. No individual names or data points are included.
We Don't Sell Your Data
We will never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties. Your wellness information is not a product.
We don't share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other external parties—period.
Third-Party Services
We use third-party services to operate Interval:
- Whoop – To sync your wearable data (subject to Whoop's privacy policy)
- OpenAI – To generate personalized wellness insights from your data
- Cloud infrastructure providers – To securely host and store your data
These services are bound by strict data processing agreements and only receive the minimum data necessary to perform their functions.
Your Rights and Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Disconnect anytime – You can disconnect your wearable device at any time from your dashboard
- Stop participating – You can opt out of the wellness program while keeping your account
- Delete your data – Contact us to request complete deletion of your account and all associated data
- Export your data – Request a copy of all your personal data
Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data:
- Encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL)
- Encrypted data storage
- Regular security audits
- Access controls and authentication
Data Retention
We retain your wellness data for as long as your account is active. If you disconnect your wearable, we keep historical data for continuity. When you delete your account, we permanently delete all your personal data within 30 days.
Aggregated, anonymized team statistics may be retained for operational purposes, but these cannot be traced back to you.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we'll notify you via email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Interval after changes means you accept the updated policy.
